The
Concept of Jagran
Jagran
has been founded on some basic premises
| |
 |
India has a number of problems that do have solutions
if thought about innovatively and with the support
of qualified individuals and organizations. |
| |
|
|
| |
 |
The
government has a limit to what it can do and if
we want to be part of a better India, as citizens
it is our duty and in our interest to see that development
reaches the under-priviledged. |
| |
|
|
| |
 |
As
Indians we have the knowledge, experience and insight
into how we can tackle these problems and all we
need to do is get together and work as a team. |
| |
|
|
| |
 |
International
perspectives while useful in validating our theories
and providing some ideas are not of much use since
we need Indian models to solve our problems. |
| |
|
|
| |
 |
There are a number of local initiatives that have
been successful in various parts of the country
and many of these are possible to replicate in other
areas with small modifications to suit local conditions. |
| |
|
|
| |
 |
Technology
today makes it possible for us to network without
the barriers of distance and time and therefore
the possibilities of sharing knowledge and working
together on solutions has improved manifold. |
| |
|
|
| |
 |
There
exists a latent desire in every Indian to make a
contribution to society and therefore there is no
dearth of people who will be willing to help and
share their knowledge provided there are adequate
channels available. |
Jagran is therefore the channel to bring together knowledge,
resources and people into a common cause of addressing
serious problems of our country.
Jagran is like a common canvas or an operating system
to take the computing paradigm where a number of applications
can work independent of each and yet share common resources
and data between them.
We want Jagran to be this operating system into which
people from all walks of life can come in, find people
with similar interests in social development, form task
groups, exchange knowledge and experiences, work together
to develop solutions for problems and share all this with
the other groups in Jagran to enable cross-pollination
of ideas and enhance the knowledge base.
Therefore whoever you might be, whatever your background
might be, whatever interests and priorities you might
have for social development, Jagran will welcome you and
help you find your flock with whom you can help make a
contribution to society and add this value to the Jagran
movement.
We want people with commitment, conviction, a willingness
to share and make available free to all Indians, a desire
to work together with others on common areas of interest
and a basic mindset to learn and expand the pool of knowledge.
We want you to look at Jagran as an unending fabric on
which you can mark your areas, set out objectives and
goals, get these published and approved by the Jagran
community, work in earnest, consult people whenever you
need guidance and problems and come back when you have
developed solutions to share this wealth of knowledge
with the others so that they may replicate these and take
it forward.
If you think you have this fire in you to change our nation
that has a great heritage but not adequate will to make
a major makeover and if you feel you have ideas and want
to make that difference to our fellow countrymen, welcome
aboard Jagran.
